Even with government aid, rural areas struggle to provide health care for elderly

WASHINGTON - Despite a number of government efforts, rural communities still face challenges in providing adequate health services for seniors.
At a Senate hearing July 31, civil servants and non-profit leaders discussed the unique difficulties in providing high-quality, easily accessible health care for elderly people in rural areas and the programs that are supposed to overcome the problems.
One of the most critical of the issues facing rural communities is access to providers.
