Gwinnett Co., Ga., homecoming typical of education majors

WASHINGTON - Shannon Finnegan is responsible for 41 "munchkins" this year at Bethesda Elementary School in Lawrenceville, Ga., but it wasn't long ago that she was a Gwinnett County student herself.
Even though Finnegan earned her degree at Clemson University in South Carolina, the 26-year-old returned to Gwinnett to teach fifth grade in August.
"The teachers and the administrators here are genuinely nice, good people who really care about the success of the students," said Finnegan, who attended Knight Elementary and Five Forks Middle before graduating from Brookwood High School in 1999.
