Click on photo to enlarge or download: Felicia MaxwellFelicia Maxwell began reporting in high school as a participant of Seton Hall University's Upward Bound program in South Orange, N.J. It was then the Newark, N.J., native fell in love with journalism. Upon graduation from high school, Maxwell applied for early decision for admission to Hampton University in Hampton, Va., and was accepted on a partial scholarship. She majored in print journalism and minored in political science.
Before she knew any better, Maxwell thought that journalism was all about writing. However, as time passed, she came to understand that writing was only the tip of the iceberg. Though she loved writing, she found another passion in graphic design and pagination, or page layout.
Maxwell has held several positions in the world of media. She's worked for Jade Dressler Communications, a lifestyle public relations firm in NewYork, as a public relations coordinator and has held positions with Hampton University's collegiate paper, the Hampton Script, including copy editor, entertainment reporter and design/layout editor.
A May 13 graduate of Hampton University, Maxwell continues to explore the many facets of the media the world and looks for opportunities that enhance her media portfolio. She's thrilled by the chance to report in Washington and knows that it will be an experience she'll never forget.
