Saterria Kersey - Spring 2000

I'm a senior print major at Hampton University. This year I am looking to find exactly where the beginning of my life will take me. Being at Hampton has made me appreciate the beauty of nature just by stepping on the greens of HU. The moolight glistens on teh waterfront every night for the perfect romantic setting. I'm the former president of the Hampton chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. I've been the sports co-editor and photography ediotor for the Hampton Script. I also joined several other clubs and organizations, such as Habitat for Humanities and I am on the Senior Executive Council. While working with Habitat, we built houses for the less fortunate. And I became a mentor for children at risk. While carrying a full load and keeping my g.p.a. at an acceptable level, I was also a resident assistant in a freshman female dormitory. I am working with the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire in Washington, DC. I am excited to be working with the Scripps Howard reporters doing stories for the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire. Working in Washington, D.C ., is a dream that most reporters don't see until further in their careers -- and I am starting here.
