Joyce Farley - Hampton Short Course 2008

Joyce FarleyJoyce FarleyWhy do I write? Is it the sound of a pencil whisking across paper? Is it the thought that words have power? Or maybe it is the feeling of accomplishment after I meet a deadline. Whatever it is, I love to write. I am from the home of the New York Giants - the 2008 Super Bowl underdogs - the Knickerbockers and the team that is synonymous with baseball excellence - the New York Yankees. I love to read. I am currently reading the latest from New York Times best-selling author James McBride, "Song Yet Sung." I am die-hard old school R&B fan. I listen to Guy, Boyz II Men, Mint Condition, Tony Toni Tone and many others. I am a junior broadcast journalism major and sociology minor at Hampton University, in Hampton, Va. After I graduate, I will enter law school to study both socioeconomic sociology and media law.
