Ryan Gravatt - Spring 1999

Journalism is a noble profession. I respect those who do good things for their community. I try to do this as a reporter. I graduated in May from the University of Florida with a journalism degree. I also have an American history degree. In addition to this internship, I covered Florida's 1998 Legislative session for the Florida Times-Union. While I was a journalism student, I worked four semesters at my school's independent student newspaper as a beat writer, an editorial writer and as the managing editor. Last spring I interned as a content editor for an online news magazine. I dream of the day I am an online producer for a news Website. My wife Suzannah and I were married on April 10. We have two dogs and a bright outlook on our future. Life has taught me some good lessons. I keep an open mind and always try new things. I fancy myself a gourmet cook -- an art I learned while managing an Italian restaurant. I am also an up-and-coming acoustic guitar player on the country music circuit touring juke joints and revival tents.
