Jessica Sabbah

Jessica Sabbah is the post-graduate multimedia fellow at the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire. The multimedia journalist recently earned her undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University, graduating cum laude and with upper division honors.
At NIU, she double majored in journalism and media studies communication with a minor in Spanish.
She found her home away from home at the daily college student newspaper, the Northern Star. There, she quickly fell in love with all things journalism. During her 4½ year stint, she had the chance to experience both the print and online perspectives of the newsroom with roles varying from multimedia reporter and copy editor to online editor and managing editor.
Sabbah spent last summer in D.C. interning at The Washington Post as a multiplatform producer. She previously held internships at the Daily Herald and Suburban Life Publications. As a freelancer, she has written stories for the Southtown Star and other publications.
While in college, Sabbah was also chosen to be a 2010 Poynter College Fellow, spending two weeks in St. Petersburg, Fla., learning about multimedia journalism. That same year, she participated in the Newspaper Association of America Foundation News Challenge focusing on going mobile.
